Celebrate Dad with a GF Beer (cupcake)

We are lucky to be neighbors with Dedicated Gluten-Free beer mongers Harvester Brewing and even luckier to have snagged some of their Red Ale to use in our cupcakes this weekend.

We are making a special batch of cupcakes infused with just the right amount of Red Ale to celebrate Fathers Day. It is a treat that Dads and non-Dads will appreciate. We’ll have some available on a first come, first served basis or you can place an order by calling 503.546.4901 with 48 hours advance notice.

Rhubarb, Asparagus, Lavender, Oh My!

Rhubarb makes its last appearance today in our Strawberry Rhubarb Galette, but I just harvested the last stalks from our plant out front and they will show up in a pie some time this week-yum!

Asparagus is synonymous with Spring and we are savoring its green brilliance in our ever-so-spring-like quiche today. Our quiche is one of our best selling items, and if you haven’t tried it yet, it’s high time to succumb to it’s popularity. Look for our next flavor, Bacon and Cheddar, coming soon!

Lavender is delicate, pretty and abundant in our lovely part of the World. We have a beautiful plant growing at the side of the bakery and you have probably seen it atop of our specialty Lavender Vanilla Bean cupcakes this past month. It will show up in all manner of tasty confections this summer so keep an eye out for it’s latest incarnation here at the bakery.

March is a busy, busy month!

March is here and soon we will be recognizing such important events as the First Day of Spring, Daylight Savings, St. Patrick’s Day, Passover and Easter . Whew!  Not to mention our new Specialty Cupcake and Galette flavors, and the other events we are planning this month to make it fun and delicious (and of course, gluten-free).

Each weekend in March we will offer up our Specialty Cupcakes and our Specialty Vegan Cupcakes which are Cookies and Cream and Avocado Chocolate (v). Avocado and chocolate might not sound like a natural combination and perhaps some folks would even turn their noses up at the thought, but let me tell you it is really, really good. The avocado gives the vegan frosting a smooth, creamy texture that mimics butter in a surprisingly convincing way.

Oh, and let’s not forget our Galettes and the new little Love Bites that have been showing up here and there. The Galette flavor for the month of March is Key Lime Cheesecake. Citrus is in season and, well, cheesecake is always in season. The combination of bright, sweet citrus and cheesecake and pastry dough is hard to beat. Love bites are tiny little heart shaped cakes draped in ganache and they are super cute and so good. Love bites show up without notice and go quickly, so come in often to score one.

While we’re at it, why not mention some of our other staple items that can be found here on a regular basis:

We are always happy to see our customer’s smiling faces at the bakery each day (and the farmer’s market when in season) and we relish the opportunity to connect with you in a personal way. Happy New Year!

2013 is here and we are ready to make this a great year. Follow along with us as we embark on this gluten-free culinary adventure. We are going to start things off with our Specialty Cupcakes of the month: Salted Caramel Mocha and Chocolate Blood Orange (vegan).

Holiday Hours

Hello all and Happy Holidays! We hope you had a wonderful Christmas and that the spirit of the holidays is still with you as we approach the end of 2012 and begin 2013.

We will be here to welcome  you with a warm smile and a fine selection of gluten-free goodness on Wednesday the 26th, from 9:00-3:00. Our regular hours will resume on Thursday (7:30-5:00 M-F, 8:00-5:00 on Saturday).

Next week we will alter our hours a bit for the New Year: New Year’s Eve we will be open from 7:30-3:00 and we will be closed on New Year’s Day. Regular hours will resume on January 2nd.

Enjoy the rest of the holiday season.

Our Holiday Menu includes some new items that we hope will become new favorites (have you tried the Chocolate Chip Cookie Pie!?), as well as some of your favorites we’ve shared with you for years, like Gingerbread Cookies and Snowball Cookies.
